Shillong - Regains Popularity as a Hill Station

Frequent disruptions and bandhs in Jammu and Kashmir and Darjeeling have acted in Shillong's favor in re-establishing itself as a popular hill station. Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya is a picturesque destination in the Northeastern part of India, but was loosing in competition to Darjeeling and Jammu & Kashmir in attracting domestic and international travelers. But as it is now risky to be in these spots, people are once again gathering in this small hill city.
