New Section of IGI – Terminal 3 – to be ready by March 2010:

New Section of IGI – Terminal 3

The much awaited Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport will be ready by March 2010, as per the report submitted by the Delhi International Airport. Almost half of the work on the project has been completed and the rest is expected to be done by March 2010.According to Anil Dhawan, Vice President, Delhi International Airport “Forty percent work in the initial phase of Rs 8,900 crore Terminal 3 project captained by the GMR-led consortium has been completed and will be fully operational by March 2010, much before the Commonwealth Games begin in Delhi.”

Renaissance, a well known name in hospitality business, is all set with its new landmark – Renaissance Tower. This 300 room hotel will be one of its kind in Mumbai. The executive lounge, overlooking the Powai Lake, on 16th floor, will be the special attraction of the tower. With the time, the tower will see expansion. As Mr. Oliver Kahf, General Manager, Renaissance and Marriott Lakeside Chalet puts it “....Renaissnace Tower will have a helipad by 2010 and 1,400 rooms with a 45,000 sq. feet of meeting place and three swimming pools.”

The survey, 'Best in Travel Poll', on the low-cost carriers, put the Indian airline among the top tens. This is the second major laurel for the SpieceJet in the recent months. The airline was in news recently for winning CIO 100 award, sponsored by CIO magazine, in the field of technological innovations in the industry. In 2007 SpiceJet was ranked as the best low-cost airline in South Asia and and Central Asia region by Skytrax, a UK based aviation research organization.
