We moved towards Alleppey to experience the charm of the
backwaters. Jenny and I took this romantic boat popularly
called houseboats. The small size of the canoe allowed us
(we/our guides) to cruise through the small waterways which
lead through several tiny villages and lush rice paddy fields.
May in India is generally the hottest month
so theres
not much tourism and it was scorching! But hands on, the backwaters
were refreshing.

On my trip to Rajasthan two months back, I stopped over at
Delhi and spent a quick evening wandering around Qutub Minar.
With not much time on hand, I spent the entire evening strolling
in the enclosure, without delving deep into the history or
reading the intricacies of the monument. But the moments I
spent there led me through the amazing avenues of romance,
mystery and nostalgia.

Last vacation took me to the City of Nizams Hyderabad.
Visits to the Golconda Fort, Taramati Baradari, Mecca Masjid,
Birla Mandir, Chowmahalla Palace, Purani Haveli, Salar Jung
Museum and Falaknuma Palace, King Kothi Palace and Hussain
Sagar, the Hyderabadi biriyani and the strong cultural background
of the city made my tour special by many a mile.
